Mixing kick and bass is the foundation of every song.
If the low end is not punchy, strong, compressed, joint it will ruin the sound of your song. And it will never be good enough if kick and bass don’t work together.
There are few different ways of mixing kick and bass.
The oldest trick used by engineers is to add 10-15 ms latency to the bass and with that it is given space for the transient of the kick.
The other and most used method is to use EQ. With this method you are changing the tone of the bass thru whole song. You feel that the bass is great with everything else except with the kick, and because of that moment you will ruin the sound of the bass.
There is this great method that I am using. With this method shown in the video, you will have great tone of the bass thru all the song, and still the kick will pass thru with no problem and changes.
By using this, your low end will be full with energy, clean, defined, punchy, with other words awesome.
